Jason Langston is a Cybersecurity Technologist at The Beckage Firm, where he supports cybersecurity investigations, digital forensics, incident response matters, and technical assessments. His work focuses on analyzing digital evidence, investigating security incidents, identifying indicators of compromise, and helping clients understand and respond to cybersecurity risks. Jason brings a practical, investigative mindset to complex cyber matters, drawing on experience in forensic analysis, detection engineering, network security, and offensive security.
Prior to joining The Beckage Firm, Jason founded Void Knight Cybersecurity, where he provided penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security consulting services for organizations seeking to strengthen their security posture. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity at St. Bonaventure University, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in information security, network security, penetration testing, enterprise security, and cybersecurity operations. Throughout his academic and professional career, Jason has mentored students and interns in detection engineering, forensic analysis, threat detection development, and enterprise security monitoring.
Jason’s technical experience includes digital forensics, metadata analysis, network security, threat detection, penetration testing, and security operations. He co-developed a forensic metadata analysis tool to support digital investigations by extracting and analyzing file metadata. His experience includes applying these skills across academic, research, and enterprise security projects.
Jason believes cybersecurity should be both technically rigorous and practical. His approach centers on understanding each client’s unique environment, identifying meaningful risks, and delivering clear, actionable guidance that aligns with organizational objectives. Whether assisting with a cyber investigation, analyzing digital evidence, or assessing security controls, Jason is committed to translating complex technical findings into understandable insights that help clients make informed decisions and strengthen their resilience against evolving cyber threats.
